Amazing Places in the Baja Mexico by Gibson

We went to the Baja this last month and there is some pretty cool places I would like to talk about.  Firstly, I would like to talk about a place called Campo Rene because there were many fun things to do. It had good fishing. We met some people, their names are Todd and Louise. Todd gave us a lure called the Rippin Minow and we had good luck. We caught corvina, flounder, rockfish, and bass. Some of the fish we caught we let go beacuse they were too small to keep.  One time we got up early to fish, I didn’t catch a fish that morning, but I caught a stingray. I thought it was weeds at first or a flounder, but then I saw its tail and I knew it was a stingray. We let it go. It was cool to see a stingray. Can I tell you something about a stingray? They sting over their heads.

In Campo Rene it has really good beach combing. We went beach combing mostly every day and we found lots of oyster bags on the beach, so we collected them beacuse there is an oyster farm close by. We also found some pretty cool shells. Some of the shells had brown stuff on them, but our other neighbours, named Bill and Penny, told us if you use Muriatic acid it will come off. The next day we went to town and got Muriatic acid and some fishing lures. When my mom tried the acid it worked. It was cool beach combing. My mom and I love treasure hunting/beach combing.

Campo Rene has lots of wildlife. Wildlife like coyotes. The coyotes walk around at night and eat the parts of dead fish that the birds don’t eat. There is a lot of birds around Campo Rene too, like pelicans, ducks, seagulls, cranes, and osprey. The pelicans are so cool to watch. They swoop for the minnows. Sometimes when you are fishing you see dolphins in the water playing together. We saw most of these animals in the campground but we did not see the coyote, only their tracks in the sand.

Los Barriles is another one of my favorite places in the Baja so far, and I would like to talk about it. In Los Barriles we stayed at a campground called Martin Verdugos. In that campground we booked an ocean fishing trip. On the fishing trip we drove a little ways on the boat, then we slowed to a troll and let out the rods with Ballyhoo bait on the hook. I was the first one to catch a fish out of us all, then Wyatt, and then dad. Dad had to fight a sea lion for his dorado. I caught the biggest fish. I had so much fun fishing on the boat.

El Pescadero/Todos Santos are some really great places that I like too. In El Pescadero we went to Cerritos beach. There were lots of surfers and if you were in the far right corner you would probably get hit by them. I was lucky because I did not get hit by a surfer. I mostly boogie boarded but you had to wait until there was no undertow, and a huge wave was coming. A lot of people were at the beach. We spent 3/4 of a day playing on the beach. It was a fantastic day.

Last but not least, in Todos Santos we went to a place called Taller 17 and it had the best sticky bun ever!!  We went to go see people release turtles. They release the turtles at sun down. The people released over 200 turtles that afternoon. Female turtles start to come back to lay their eggs after twelve years. A baby turtle is the size of three Loonies. It was something I will remember.

In the end, Baja Mexico is Amazing because it has some really cool places and it has a chill vibe.
