Favourite Baja Spots- Wyatt

Three of the best spots I have stayed at in the Baja were Los Barriles, La Paz, and Campo Rene.  My first favourite stop we made was in Los Barriles.  At Los Barriles, Mom rented a boat and a guide for the day and we went fishing.  We caught two dorado.  Dad’s dorado, we had to fight a sea lion for it.  In the end we got it from the sea lion, but it was quite  the hassle because every time he let go of it, we would reel in as hard as we could but the sea lion would easily get it back in his grasp again.  (Which was quite annoying).

The town of Los Barriles, which was the biggest town we have been in so far, was maybe half the size of Summerland.  It had a big market that we went to, which had lots of things like wood art, paintings, clothing, etc.  When we were at the market lots of other towns folk were coming in to shop on quads and razors.  Every day we went to the beach for at least two or three hours.  At the beach the waves were as tall as a small car.  The water was suprisingly warm if you stayed in it for a minute or two.   I was in the waves 99.9 percent of the time we were at the beach.  The waves would blow me backwards with ease, but I would always get back up and run as hard as I could to jump into the next wave that would soon crash up on shore.  When we were hanging out on the beach, it was usually windy, so there were lots of wind surfers and kite boarders.

Los Barriles was also where we spent Christmas. So, the thing I liked about Christmas, was that we didn’t have to do school work for a whole two weeks.  Also, I was really surprised that Santa was able to find me this year.  That was the best Christmas on the road ever!

La Paz was my second favourite place on the road because the campground we stayed at had a trampoline, pool, wifi, park and a soccer/basketball court to play in.  The pool was just as cold as the ocean and the hot tub was as hot as an indoor pool.  When we were at the pool dad would throw us up into the air and we would do back flips into the water.  One time Gibson jumped straight up and did a big belly flop from about four feet above the water.

The next day at the campground in La Paz, mom got us some new Minecraft accounts so that we could play with our other friends that have the game as well.  The reason we could not
play online with friends was because our mom had it set up so we could not play with strangers and we could not accidently click a button and buy something.  It is so much more fun now that we can play with friends.  I don’t know why but Gibson and I used to play Hill Climb Racing 2, until mom got us the new Minecraft accounts and now we are all about it.

Campo Rene, my third favourite, was the absolute best fishing spot ever because if you fished from shore, you could catch Sea Bass, Flounder and Corvina.   Personally,  I preferred Corvina because it doesn’t taste fishy at all.  The first day we went fishing we caught seven different fish. We ended up only keeping two fish because one of the fish we caught was a big Corvina so we kept it.  The second fish we caught would have got thrown back but because it got hooked in the side we had to keep it.  It was actually pretty good for eating.  We also got some new lures while we were there. When we were gone fishing one of the days dad and I saw an octopus that was problably the size of an average water bottle.  That was the most successful fishing I have done in my entire life!  When we weren’t fishing,  we went treasure hunting.  When we were treasure hunting we found some oyster bags and lots of other useful things, like big rubber bobbers and some gloves too.

These were the most wonderful and entertaining campgrounds in the Baja.  I hope to be able to visit again when I am older.
