Big Cities -Gibson

Before New York we went to Washington. We saw the White House and Capital Hill. They are both really fancy as they have pillars with cool designs on them. Capital Hill had a lot of people there looking at it. I liked Washington because it had a lot of old buildings. I like old stuff and I don’t know why Manhattan was a lot of fun, but it’s very busy, and not chill like Mexico. It was cool to see Time Square. Time Square is the only place I’ve seen on video and I’m glad I got to see it in person. Time Square is the most lit up with light, and I might have said this in the last blog, that I wanted to see New York’s lights. New York food… These are food places you should go. I went to them and they’re good, I mean very good. Their names are, Bo’s Bagels, Levains cookies, Katz’s Deli. These were great places to eat. Thinking about it, I am still stuffed. The Empire State building was tall and had 102 floors in total. It was amusing to go on the elevator to the 86 floor. It we...

New York State - Wyatt

Our only three spots we stopped at in New York State were Manhattan, Corning, and Busti, where we drove as far as we could to see the eclipse happen. In Manhattan, there were lots of different places to eat. The first food place that mom took us to was her favourite bagel place. It was called BO’S Bagels, and it was great. At BO’S, they had pretty much fifteen different kinds of bagels, along with eight or nine different cream cheeses. I got a 3CBO (cheese, bacon, onion bagel) with chocolate chip cream cheese. The second food place we went to was the Levain Bakery that is known for its cookies. At the Levain Bakery dad and I got chocolate chip cookies. Gibson got a dark chocolate peanut butter cookie and mom got a carmel coconut cookie. They say that those were great cookies, and those were GREAT cookies. They were the thickest cookies I have ever eaten. We also went to a Jewish Deli and its name was Katz’s Deli. At the Jewish Deli mom ordered a Reuben sandwich that had...

Welcome to New York

Welcome to New York The next day we were supposed to go into NYC it self, but we needed a day to recoupe from the stress of the last few days, and be recharged for the following full 2 days in Manhattan. The kids liked the park here at Croton Point Campground. We are an hour out of NYC, via the metro. We decided to stay here, as it is $60 US a night versus the $150 to stay in New Jersey, which was way closer to Manhattan.   I do have to mention that I have been to Manhattan twice before, both different experiences, once with just Adam, and another time with a close friend, and this is time was no different. NY with kids. Day 1: Insert Taylor swifts song, ‘Welcome to NY’ and Alicia Keys, ‘New York’ 🎶 We caught the Metro line going into Manhattan and had an hour long commute to Harlem. We excitedly exited the station and started walking towards my absolute favorite bagel shop, Bo’s Bagels. Here, it was a small crowded shop, which the kids quickly learned, is every...
