Big Cities -Gibson
Before New York we went to Washington. We saw the White House and Capital Hill. They are both really fancy as they have pillars with cool designs on them. Capital Hill had a lot of people there looking at it. I liked Washington because it had a lot of old buildings. I like old stuff and I don’t know why
Manhattan was a lot of fun, but it’s very busy, and not chill like Mexico. It was cool to see Time Square. Time Square is the only place I’ve seen on video and I’m glad I got to see it in person. Time Square is the most lit up with light, and I might have said this in the last blog, that I wanted to see New York’s lights.
New York food… These are food places you should go. I went to them and they’re good, I mean very good. Their names are, Bo’s Bagels, Levains cookies, Katz’s Deli. These were great places to eat. Thinking about it, I am still stuffed.
The Empire State building was tall and had 102 floors in total. It was amusing to go on the elevator to the 86 floor. It went faster than normal. It was not scary. On the 80th floor we saw Darth Maul and Darth Vader in lego (life size).
Grand Central Station is the biggest train station I’ve ever seen in my life. It has 67 tracks in total. It has the most tracks in the world. It is the coolest building ever, train station I mean. The station was very busy even at midnight, when you think people would be asleep. When in Time Square the streets weren’t as busy as I thought.
We also went to a Harry Potter Broadway show, called Harry Potter and the Cursed Child. It was so cool because some stuff you didn’t know how they did it. For example, people disappeared from the stage into a telephone booth. It was almost better than a movie I’d say. I want to see another one. I love Manhattan. I hope to come back.
In New York State we also went to the Corning Museum of Glass. We got to decorate cups by putting stickers and tape on the cup and then sand blasting it. It was very fun. Another thing I liked at the museum was the flameworking demo. Flameworking is a one person job only and I liked it because you can stop and start in the middle of a piece. I want to try it when I get home. I wasn’t able to flamework at the museum because I was too young.
New York is in my top 5 places I love. It is up there with Zion (Utah), Oregon, Yellowstone (Wyoming) and Baja (Mexico). I want to plan another trip again. I love New York.
